Directions, Transport, and Parking
- Is it possible for The Dominican to book me a taxi to the airport or train station early in the morning, and if so, am I able to pay with a credit card?
Yes, of course. The Reception team will be happy to assist, and they are able to book taxis in advance as well as booking taxis as needed. Also, you are able to pay with cash or credit card for the taxi.
- Can The Dominican help to arrange a taxi to be picked up upon arrival to Brussels?
Before arrival, please contact Reception by email at reception@thedominican.be requesting the taxi, as well as your arrival information and how many people and luggage, and we will happily book the taxi for you.
- What are the directions to the Grand place from The Dominican and how many minutes does it take to walk there?
During check-in, the Reception team can offer you a city map as well instructions to the Grand Place and other nearby areas. Located in the city centre, The Dominican is only a 5-minute walk to the Grand Palace and other touristic areas.
- Where are the nearest train stations and how can I get to them from The Dominican?
The closest train stations are Central Station and Gare du Midi (Midi/Zuid Station). Central Station is a 6-minute walk from the hotel, and Gare du Midi is a 10-minute ride using public transportation or a 15-minute cab ride. Please do not hesitate to ask Reception for directions if needed.
- Is there parking available for my vehicle during my stay?
The Dominican does not have on-site parking, but on the streets Ecuyer and Monnaie, secure car parks are available only a few steps from the hotel.
Check-in, Check-out, and Duration of Stay
- What time should I arrive for check-in, and if I arrive early, will I be able to complete check-in?
Check-in starts at 3:00pm each day. If you happen to arrive earlier in the day, the Reception team will gladly store your baggage in a secure area. If the room is ready before 3:00pm, we offer an early check-in for the additional fee of 50€.
- What time is check-out, and is it possible to receive a late checkout?
Check-out is at 12:00pm each day. Late checkout is possible, but it is dependent on the occupancy of the hotel at the time. If you need an extra few hours to snooze, please ask Reception about any late check-out requests.
- Will I be able to check-in and/or check-out during the middle of the night?
Yes, we have staff available at the reception 24/7 to complete check-ins, check-outs, or anything else you might need during your stay.
- How do I connect to Wi-Fi during my stay, and what is the network name?
To connect to our complimentary Wi-Fi, select the ‘The Dominican Hotel’ network on your device. Click to open the browser and a login window will pop up automatically. Follow the steps to sign in. It’s as easy as it sounds!
- Am I able to setup a wake-up call or make external calls at The Dominican?
Let the front desk team know you need a wake-up call by dialing ‘9’. Rest easy, we’ll be sure to wake you up on time. Need to make an external call? Dial ‘0’ followed by the telephone number.
Rooms & Suites
- What are the different rooms and suites offered at The Dominican, and how am I able to make a reservation?
The rooms and suites include the Deluxe Room, Courtyard Room, Executive Room, The Dominican Loft, Executive Suite, Junior Courtyard Suite, and the Grand Place Suite. Reservations can be made on The Dominican’s website by clicking on the ‘Book Now’ button, and further information can be found at the following link, https://www.thedominican.be/rooms .
The Dominican also manages five studios located next to the hotel that offer guests the option of a longer stay, and they can be reserved by reaching out to our team through the contact form on the following link, https://www.thedominican.be/rooms/studio. - How can I make certain requests for my room, such as anti-allergenic, high floor level, king-size bed, etc.?
When booking your reservation from our website, there is a section under the Reservation Details titled ‘Special Requests’ where you can input the accommodations needed during your stay.
- Which amenities are included in the rooms, and does it differ from one room to another?
The rooms and suites offered at The Dominican vary in size and amenities. The full list of amenities for each room and suite can be found on the website under the ‘Rooms & Suites’ tab or by clicking on the following link, https://www.thedominican.be/rooms.
- Will I have a safe in my room while staying at The Dominican?
A safe with a 6 digits code lock is at your disposal in your room. Safeguard your precious belongings here. Bear in mind that we accept no liability for loss or damage to your valuables or cash. And make sure that all doors and windows are closed when leaving your room. Discover the city carefree.
- Does The Dominican allow pets during the stay?
Although we care for animals, no pets are allowed anywhere in the hotel premises. A compensatory cleaning fee of € 250 will be added to your bill if you are found to be keeping a pet in your bedroom. In addition, you will be asked to leave our hotel regardless of your checkout date and time. Make sure you have a dog sitter on hand before heading our direction
- Am I allowed to smoke in my room or in the hotel during my stay?
The Dominican is 100% smoke-free for your breathing pleasure. We only accept smokers in the outside cloisters. Smoking is not permitted in any other part of the hotel, including the outside area where food is served. Our sensitive smoke detectors will alert our team if they identify cigarette smoke and you will be fined a cleaning fee of € 250.
Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Laundry
- Is housekeeping service provided every day?
Yes, cleaning services are provided each day unless requested otherwise.
- Can I decline housekeeping service during my stay? If so, do I get any perks for this?
In return to opting out of housekeeping, The Dominican will provide you a voucher for a free drink at the bar due to your efforts in helping us stay eco-friendly. There is a card placed in your room with further details!
- How can I request extra items such as towels or linens?
Extra items can be requested beforehand while booking the reservation, and if you need extra items during your stay, you are able to call Reception to request them as well.
- When is the laundry service available, and how long does it take?
Laundry Service is available is available Monday to Friday. Drop off your laundry at reception before 8:30am and it will be returned to you the same day! If the laundry is dropped off after, then you will receive your laundry the next day.
- How much does the laundry service cost, and where can I find the prices?
In your room’s wardrobe, you will find a laundry form with all the prices listed along with a laundry bag.
- Who do I contact if something in my room is not functioning properly, such as the showerhead, television, etc.?
If this unfortunately takes place during your stay, please contact Reception and let them know of the issue. They will then send the Maintenance staff to your room to resolve any requests you have.
- Is a Lost and Found available if I lose something in the hotel or leave an item in my room after checking out?
If this happens, please contact Reception and let them know which items were left or lost, and Housekeeping will be contacted and informed about the items as well to try to locate them. There is also a website available that includes all of the items that have been left at the hotel with photos on https://ilost.co/org/the-dominican.
F&B Recommendations
- What are the hours for breakfast, how much does it cost, and what is included each morning?
Breakfast is each morning from 6:30am to 10:30am on weekdays and 7:00am to 11:00am on weekends that includes an extensive breakfast buffet, full of local products as well as being able to choose from the à la carte menu. The cost is 30€ per person, but discounts can be offered upon check-in if you take breakfast for the duration of your stay.
- What are the hours for the Grand Lounge restaurant and the Lounge Bar?
The Grand Lounge is open Monday to Saturday where they take food orders up until 10pm offering renowned classics from around the globe, and the Lounge Bar is open daily from 10:00am to 1:00am offering classic and signature cocktails and an assortment of tapas.
- Would you be able to provide a menu from the Grand Lounge restaurant?
The menu for the Grand Lounge is available on our website as well as the Lounge Bar menu. In your room, there is also a pamphlet with a QR code inside that allows you to view the menu immediately after scanning.
- Which local restaurants would you recommend that are near the Dominican, and can you suggest upscale and casual options?
The Dominican offers a multitude of restaurant recommendations in nearby areas. You can ask Reception for their personal opinions as well as receive a list of recommended restaurants picked by The Dominican, varying in cuisines and categories.
Leisure Facilities
- What kind of facilities are offered at The Dominican? Where is it located, and what are the hours?
The Fitness and Wellness area is located on the fifth floor and is open daily from 7:00am to 11:00pm.
- How much does it cost to use the Fitness and Wellness area during my stay?
The cost is included in your room rate, so you are able to go as much as you would like during your stay without any additional fees.
- What does the Fitness and Wellness area offer in regards to workout machines, supplies, etc.?
The Fitness and Wellness area offers a range of excellent facilities, including treadmills, ellipticals, home trainers, a boxing gym with weights and punching bags, as well as a rejuvenating sauna and Turkish hammam.
Local Activities
- What are a few landmarks in Brussels that should not be missed during our stay?
The Dominican suggests the The Royal Theatre of La Monnaie, Horta Museum, Grand Place, and Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert where you will be transported in time and captivated by the elaborate architecture.
- Are there certain surrounding neighbourhoods that are worth the visit?
Sablon, Sainte-Catherine, and Châtelain are a few of the neighbourhoods The Dominican suggests to visit due to their having their own local, unique characters. Sablon includes a daily flea market in the iconic Place de Jeu de Balle.
- Where are some places I can go if I enjoy art exhibitions and galleries?
The Dominican recommends going to Villa Empain, Bozar, and Kanal – Centre Pompidou to discover more about Brussel’s culture and indulge in various exhibitions.
- What are the different areas recommended for shopping around the city?
Varying from department stores to exclusive boutiques, The Dominican suggest the Quartier Dansaert, Avenue Louise, and Rue de Namur to fulfil all your shopping needs! Quartier Dansaert is only a few steps away from The Dominican as well.
- Which parks should I go to if I want to unwind and enjoy the nature?
The Dominican recommends Bois de la Cambre and Brussels Park to discover the green sides of the city. If you are staying with us in the spring, the Hallerbos (‘Blue Forest’) is bit outside of Brussels but is a must-see as it turns into an endless ocean of blooming hyacinths.
Room Service and Mini Bar
- Are all the items in the Mini Bar complimentary?
The complimentary mini-bar is available in all Suites, Executive, and Loft rooms. The mini-bar is filled with juice, chips, macarons, and water for you to enjoy during your stay!
- Is there Room Service at The Dominican, what are the hours, and how do I go about ordering?
Yes, we have Room Service available, and you can order by scanning the QR code provided in the pamphlet in your room from 10:00am to 12 midnight. The Kitchen is open from 12 noon to 10:00pm. To order Room Service past 10:00pm, please call reception on the number ‘9’ for our Food Night Menu, available from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
Meeting Rooms and Planning Events
- Am I able to book a meeting space or plan an event at The Dominican?
Yes, of course! Bring your team together, host a networking event, or create your next unforgettable experience in our 180 m² multifunctional space.
Perfect for corporate gatherings, business events, and celebrations, the rooms are able to accommodate up to 300 participants and can easily be divided or merged into one generous area opening onto our garden. - What are the different packages offered?
We offer a Half Day Meeting or a Full Day Meeting that includes a 75-inch portable TV, dedicated high-speed WIFI, waters & sweets, and more! There are also supplementary add-ons as well such as an extra coffee break, a hot and cold buffet, a 3-course meal, and more.
- How can I make a reservation for a meeting room or plan an event?
If you go to our website at https://www.thedominican.be/meetings-and-events , you can view the different packages in further detail, and then click on “Make an Event Request”. It will prompt you to fill out some information about yourself and the event. Once you submit the information, someone will be in contact with you shortly to help plan a memorable event for you and your guests.

- Am I able to accumulate points as a Marriott Bonvoy member while staying at The Dominican, and can I use these points as payment for stays here in the future?

- As a Marriott Bonvoy member, is my breakfast included during my stay at The Dominican, or is that separate?
No, breakfast is not complimentary, but we offer a breakfast discount to Marriott Bonvoy Members who decide to take breakfast for the duration of their stay upon checking-in. A full list of benefits that are not available can be found on our website at https://www.thedominican.be/bonvoy-benefits .
- Am I eligible for a room upgrade each time I sat at the Dominican as a Bonvoy member?
Room upgrades are offered depending on the availability of rooms at the hotel during the time of your stay.
